Getting into the Holiday Spirit at the Springfield Foundation

Recently, Springfield Foundation staff and board members have gotten into the holiday and giving spirit in various ways. To kick off the season, we visited Second Harvest Food Bank to help pack non-perishables. Our next visit was Crayons to Classrooms, where we aided in making Classroom Solutions materials. Following this, we helped prepare the horses for the cold winter months at Autumn Trails Stable. Our giving spirit didn’t stop there, as on Thanksgiving morning, we attended St. Johns Baptist church to help prep and serve meals to the community. Finally, to round out the season, we volunteered for Shoes 4 the Shoeless where we fitted students with new shoes and socks, just in time for colder weather. We had a wonderful time at each of these local organizations that make positive impacts on our community every day.

"Our annual community service projects are a reflection of our nonprofit’s core values. It allows our board and staff to lead by example, giving back directly to the community we serve while strengthening our connection as a team. Through this hands-on experience, we’re reminded of the impact we can create together and why our mission matters."

This holiday season, we also hosted a winter coat drive for local students, and we are proud to share that we collected a total of 62 coats and more than 15 hats! These were dropped off at the Dome just before Thanksgiving, along with a $1,500 check from the Foundation and a generous donor, for the staff there to purchase more coats and hats. We greatly appreciate everyone who donated to this drive! Together, we are amplifying the good and creating a brighter, warmer future for all.
